Here’s a chance to see what Oregon has to offer for world class wines in a gorgeous setting. Take this chance for the opportunity to escape deep into the lush and vibrant heart of Oregon wine country. Intermountain Opera Bozeman presents the Wine Tour Getaway 2017 Raffle! The incredible grand prize includes airfare, land travel and five night's accommodations with multiple winery and wine maker tours for two in Oregon. The winners will fly to Portland and enjoy staying at wineries in the Willamette Valley for five days. During the tour, you will receive VIP tours of some of Oregon’s best wineries, sample wines in barrel, and enjoy a quick bite or two. I don’t know the exact odds of winning but last year the winner was chosen from a pool of under 600 tickets. (Last year’s winner was a Wine Club member as well!)
Even if you don’t win the big prize, second prize is season tickets to the 2017-2018 40th Anniversary season of Intermountain Opera Bozeman.
If you win third prize in the Intermountain Opera Raffle, your prize will be a full case of the new “Tosca’s Blend” including one bottle signed by the artist whose original painting adorns the label.
If you didn’t already know this, the May 2017 opera will be Puccini’s “Tosca”. In honor of that, Laurel Hatch has been commissioned to do a painting that will grace our newest edition of “Tosca” wine. Her subject is the first act of “Tosca” where the artist Mario muses over the mysterious harmony and diversity of beauty. As he paints a blue-eyed blond Madonna in the church, he muses on how his own true love, Tosca, is beautiful in her own right with dark hair and dark eyes. Laurel’s painting shows the dark haired Tosca looking into a mirror whose reflection is the blond woman.
Inside the “Tosca” bottle, we have another beautiful blend of Columbia Valley red wines from Reininger in Walla Walla. Like the previous editions of Tosca’s Blend, this one will feature Merlot, Cabernet and Syrah in a lush, plush, dark colored red. We have sold out of the previous vintages of “Tosca’s Blend”and I don’t think this year’s will be any exception. I may be prejudiced but it is my theory that Reisinger’s “Tosca” blends have got to be some of the best wines ever made for the Wine Club. Everyone who gets a red wine in the Wine Club will have a bottle in April to test that theory. First and second in the raffle are fantastic but third isn’t bad either.
The raffle drawing will take place during the intermission of the May 14, 2017 performance of Tosca. You need not be present to win...but shouldn't you be at the opera anyway? Intermountain Opera is the place where art, music, costumes, dancing and drama are all on display at once, and it was just named the non-profit of the month by First Interstate Bank and KZBK.
You must be 21 and over to enter. All proceeds support IntermountainOpera Bozeman productions as well as educational outreach to schools in Gallatin County. Tickets are $25 each or 5 for $100.
