Get ready for Spring with White and Rosé Wines
Perfect Palate Refreshers!
Spring is a transitional season for wines. Seasonal moods and traditions usually dictate our wardrobe, the foods we eat, and often times, the wines we select. With bright sunny days ahead the weight of the wine, not color, is the key factor in selecting bottles!
We have hand-selected from our shelves our 'go-to' White and Rosé wines that will be perfect for any spring flavor or mood (and... they are all under $20!):
Yamhill Pinot Blanc, Willamette Valley
A Pinot Blanc that has a rich full flavor, minerality, hints of melon and stone fruit with a creamy, supple texture that is just delicious. Pair with smoked cheeses, a nice poached halibut, or some oysters,
Vino Lauria Grillo, Italy
Citrusy and fresh, both on the nose and palate, and golden with curious greenish reflections. It has lots of tropical aromas of pineapple, sour zest of grapefruit, and aromatic herb of sage and mint. A great alternative to Sauvignon Blanc or Soave!
Anne Amie Amrita Cuvee, Willamette Valley
A blend of 32% Pinot Blanc, 19% Muller-Thurgau, 17% Riesling, with Viognier, Chardonnay, and Gewurtztraminer to finish off the blend. Aromas of elderflower, starfruit, shortbread cookies, and lemon drops perfume from the glass. On the palate you get hints of strawberry, golden raspberry, and summertime goodness! It has a nice spiciness to it and is slight off-dry. It makes a perfect pairing for any Mexican or Indian food fare!
Mariana Blanco, Portugal
A delicious wine with hints of yellow fruits, soft minerality and creamy texture. There is a touch of toast, warm fruitiness and fresh acidity. Perfect for any grilled chicken or seafood dish!
Apremont Savoie, France
Apremont is a signature wine from a beautiful paradise nestled in the French Alps. This is a delicate and feather-lite white. It offers green apple and floral aromas on the nose. On the palate, it is dry and extremely refreshing with crystal clear purity.
Scaia Bianco, Italy
An elegant blend of Chardonnay and Garganega. It has a bouquet of jasmine flowers, citrus fruits, apple, pear and mango. The flavor resembles the bouquet and aromas with an added bonus of bright food friendly acidity. This is a fresh wine that will pair well with most salads and light seafood dishes.
Vina Aljibes (VA), Spain
This Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc blend has been a popular white and "go to" wine for us!
It has a very clean look with nose aromas of fresh tropical fruit, passion fruit, combined with elegant aromas of fermentation of Chardonnay. It is very fruity (but not sweet) and intense in the mouth with an elegant and long finish. This pairs perfect with white fish, warm salad or as an apertif!
HogWash Rosé, California
Another great vintage by Tuck Beckstoffer! This 100% Grenache Rose is simply summertime in a glass! It has a pale salmon-pink color and beautifully showcases lively aromas of watermelon candy, red cherries, red current and rose water. It's medium-bodied with incredible vibrancy that combines with a great finish to create a wine that is both very serious and yet fun for everyone!
Yamhill Rosé, Willamette Valley
Made by pressing Pinot Noir (80%) and Pinot Blanc (20%) together. The Pinot Blanc adds a nice richness to the texture, while the Pinot Noir contributes the beautiful color and floral aromas. It's a perfect choice on a stormy Spring day and you want to drink liquid sunshine, or with a picnic of charcuterie on a warm sunny day!
Commanderie de la Bargemone, France
A quintessential Provencal Rosé that has a light salmon color. It is vibrant with mineral-accented aromas of fresh strawberry and blood orange, with a sexy floral nuance. This flows to a fresh, focused and classically styled dry rose that has bright acidity offering tangy red berry and succulent herb flavors. It is beautifully balanced with a clean finish. It is the perfect dry rose for a hot summer day or to kick off a meal!
Spring time in Montana... Nothing better!
