93 Point Tasting

93 Point Tasting

April 8th will be the date and the Gallatin River Lodge will be the venue for this year’s 93 Point Tasting. Many of you know the story of how this event came about, but I would like to tell the story one more time. About five or six years ago, one of our best customers came up to me after the November Grand Tasting and proposed doing a more upscale tasting. He related that if he spent $13.95 on a wine that rated 90 points, it wouldn’t upset him too much if it didn’t appeal to his particular palate and it went into tomorrow’s stew or just down the drain. He expanded on his example by saying if he spent $39.95 on a 93 point wine, it would grind his gears to pour it out if it wasn’t to his taste. From that conversation, a star was born.

Every year, the 93 Point Tasting presents the best wines of the year AND the chance to taste them before buying. Local distributors vie to bring the most delicious wines in their portfolios to present at this event. Our staff gets to taste every wine we buy at the Wine Gallery and we think this is a great opportunity for our customers to share out good fortune. Imagine an evening where every wine you taste is one of the best in the world and every morsel of food is from the kitchen of the Gallatin River Lodge Grill. The Lodge is full service dining facility, and is known to Bozeman and Gallatin Valley residents as some of the finest dining in the region so why not pair it with these great wines?I will be attending a planning meeting this morning to flesh out more of the details so pay attention to next week’s Grapevine for more details.
